Song Meaning
“In the School of Providence” hears Augustine’s On Order as a lesson in being taught by God through the very things we do not understand. The dialogue begins with confusion, interruptions, night thoughts, strange sounds, arguments, and ordinary events that gradually become occasions for wisdom. Augustine’s larger point is that the soul must be trained to see rightly.
