Song Meaning
“Signs of the Savior” adapts Ambrose’s Illuminans Altissimus, a hymn celebrating the manifestations of Christ’s identity through His mighty signs. Jesus is addressed as peace, life, light, and truth, the Highest One who illuminates the stars. The hymn then moves through several biblical revelations of His glory: His baptism in the Jordan, the star that guided the Magi to the Virgin’s child, the transformation of water into wine at Cana, and the multiplication of the loaves for the multitude. These miracles are not presented merely as displays of power. Creation itself recognizes and responds to its Maker.
