Song Meaning
“Restless Heart” expresses the emotional pressure underneath the Soliloquies. Augustine is not casually curious. He is aching, impatient, weeping, and unable to rest until love receives what it seeks. He has chased lesser lights and found that they cannot satisfy. Reason keeps showing him that life, friendship, health, and even the desire to keep living matter most only because they serve the search for wisdom. The song gives that inner restlessness an anthemic shape. It is not restlessness for novelty or success, but for truth, God, and the home of the soul.
