Song Meaning
“Soliloquy” closes the album by returning to the tone with which Augustine began: prayer, surrender, and a soul exposed before God. Across the Soliloquies, Augustine has argued, questioned, doubted, wept, corrected himself, and followed Reason through difficult paths. But the final posture is not intellectual pride. It is dependence. He asks God to strip away darkness, heal weakness, guide the search, and bring him into truth. The song’s final cry gathers the album’s themes into worship: the longing to know God and the soul, the healing of desire, the eyes of the mind, truth that cannot perish, and the hope of immortality. It is a finale because the inner conversation has become a prayer again. The soul gives itself to God, trusting that the Light it seeks is also the mercy that makes it whole.
