"Pedilavium" is inspired by the washing of feet preserved in the Milanese baptismal practice described by Ambrose. The rite recalls Christ washing his disciples' feet and teaching that cleansing leads into humble service. The track begins with water held almost motionless, then develops through small gestures of washing, receiving, and sharing. Its tenderness matters: Augustine's new life is not imagined as intellectual victory, but as a call to humility. The phrase "share with me" points toward communion with Christ, while the final movement turns the gift outward – those who have been washed are called to serve one another. Because Augustine's own baptismal account does not list this action, the piece is an artistic reconstruction grounded in Ambrose's description of the local rite.
