- O Satyrus, My Brother
The Offering I Bring
I carried him in silence wrapped in white
The one I loved more than breath or light
No blemish on his soul no stain on his name
An offering to God through fire and flame
My brother my strength my dearest friend
I saw the road I knew the end
And though my heart breaks in the shadow of loss
I lay him down at the foot of the cross
Let tears fall as incense
Let grief rise as prayer
I give what was given
He was never mine to bear
This is the offering I bring
Not gold or myrrh but suffering
My praise through pain my love through loss
My song beneath a heavy cross
This is the offering I bring
He was Yours before he was mine
A gift for a time a light that shined
So take him Lord into Your rest
And let me trust that You know best
This is the offering I bring
Not gold or myrrh but suffering
My praise through pain my love through loss
My song beneath a heavy cross
This is the offering I bring
This is the offering I bring
Grief and Gratitude
I lost the one I loved the most
A voice gone quiet a shadow a ghost
But deeper still I feel the grace
That he was mine if just for days
No anger now no curse no blame
Just ache that whispers out his name
And yet I thank the Lord above
For every year for every love
I stand between the joy and pain
Between the sunlight and the rain
And lift my hands though weak and torn
To bless the God who gives and mourn
Grief and gratitude side by side
One breaks me down one lifts my eyes
I cry and sing I fall and rise
A sacred storm beneath these skies
Grief and gratitude hand in hand
Both lead me where I learn to stand
What kind of love lets sorrow speak
What kind of hope runs down my cheek
The tears I shed are not despair
They’re prayers I sing into the air
Grief and gratitude side by side
One breaks me down one lifts my eyes
I cry and sing I fall and rise
A sacred storm beneath these skies
Grief and gratitude hand in hand
Both lead me where I learn to stand
He Chose the Better Death
The waves were wild the sky went black
The ship was gone no turning back
But deeper still the fear that stayed
To die unsealed to die unmade
He found the faithful sought the sign
A heart that burned for truth divine
No comforts clung no breath was spared
He chose to die if God was there
Not for safety not for breath
But for life beyond this death
He chose the better death
Not chained to fleeting breath
He rose beneath the flood
To cling the cross to trust the blood
He feared no earthly loss
But missing heaven’s cross
He chose the better death
And now he lives in rest
Would I have done the same
Would I have sought the flame
Or turned to shore to saving sand
And lost the promise in my hand
He chose the better death
Not chained to fleeting breath
He rose beneath the flood
To cling the cross to trust the blood
He feared no earthly loss
But missing heaven’s cross
He chose the better death
And now he lives in rest
What Is Left Behind
The room is quiet where you stood
The chair untouched the folded hood
I reach for words but none remain
Just hollow echoes filled with pain
You were my breath my second mind
A bond the world could never bind
Now all I see are ghostly things
The weight of love the ache it brings
What is left behind
When the heartbeat fades but the soul still shines
What is left of me
When the better part is memory
I walk these halls alone
But love still calls me home
To what is left behind
The Lord gave and the Lord reclaimed
But nothing in me feels the same
Yet in the ashes still I find
The trace of glory left behind
What is left behind
When the heartbeat fades but the soul still shines
What is left of me
When the better part is memory
I walk these halls alone
But love still calls me home
To what is left behind
To what is left behind
Barbarian Storm, Inner Peace
The cities shake the borders fall
The trumpets sound a distant call
The world’s on fire the sky is torn
But worse than war my soul still mourns
The crowds all fear what’s still to come
But I have lost my only one
And in that loss I face the fear
Of everything I once held dear
Let kingdoms crash and empires break
No grief can match the love I ache
Barbarian storm but I still stand
Not by sword or shielded hand
Inside this wreck I found release
In tears I learned a deeper peace
The thunder roars the nations fall
But love has shaken me through all
I feared the world would break apart
But God was breaking down my heart
And when the storm pressed into me
He carved a peace the eye can’t see
Barbarian storm but I still stand
Not by sword or shielded hand
Inside this wreck I found release
In tears I learned a deeper peace
The thunder roars the nations fall
But love has shaken me through all
Through all
The Dust and the Soul
The hands I held are still and cold
The lips once kind now silent closed
The body breaks returns to clay
But something deeper walks away
The dust returns to dust again
But the soul the soul remains
Not bound by earth not lost in time
It reaches up to the divine
This broken flesh it served its role
Now glory clothes the living soul
We dress the grave in robes and tears
We name the years we count the fears
But death can’t grasp what God has sealed
The breath He gave it won’t be stilled
The dust returns to dust again
But the soul the soul remains
Not bound by earth not lost in time
It reaches up to the divine
This broken flesh it served its role
Now glory clothes the living soul
You are not ashes
You are not gone
You are the song
Still rising strong
The dust returns to dust again
But the soul the soul remains
Not bound by earth not lost in time
It reaches up to the divine
This broken flesh it served its role
Now glory clothes the living soul
The Saints Shall Rise Again
The grave is not the final sound
It holds the flesh but not the crown
The bones may sleep beneath the stone
But Christ will call His own
The trumpet’s not for fear
But for the dead to hear
The silence breaks the sky ignites
The saints step into light
The saints shall rise again
Not ghosts but flesh and men
Restored renewed forever whole
With glorified and shining soul
Oh death you’ve lost your sting
We serve the risen King
The saints shall rise again
I saw him buried wrapped in care
But knew his soul was not still there
And one day more the dust will break
And he’ll awake for heaven’s sake
The saints shall rise again
Not ghosts but flesh and men
Restored renewed forever whole
With glorified and shining soul
Oh death you’ve lost your sting
We serve the risen King
The saints shall rise again
Rise rise O faithful sleeper
Shine shine O death defeater
The grave can’t hold the chosen ones
We rise like Christ God’s risen Son
The saints shall rise again
Not ghosts but flesh and men
Restored renewed forever whole
With glorified and shining soul
Oh death you’ve lost your sting
We serve the risen King
The saints shall rise again
The saints shall rise again
Tears Before the Altar
I could not speak I could not stand
I knelt with shaking open hands
No words to give no songs to sing
Just sorrow laid before my King
Tears before the altar fall
He hears the weeping knows it all
No groan is lost no cry ignored
Each drop a prayer before the Lord
My grief becomes a holy fire
A broken heart a burnt-offered desire
The marble floor my silent friend
I found His comfort in the end
Not in escape not in control
But in surrender of my soul
Tears before the altar fall
He hears the weeping knows it all
No groan is lost no cry ignored
Each drop a prayer before the Lord
My grief becomes a holy fire
A broken heart a burnt-offered desire
He does not scorn a soul undone
The wounded rise before the Son
And where my pain could find no words
The Spirit sang what heaven heard
Tears before the altar fall
He hears the weeping knows it all
No groan is lost no cry ignored
Each drop a prayer before the Lord
My grief becomes a holy fire
A broken heart a burnt-offered desire
A broken heart a burnt-offered desire
A broken heart a holy fire
A Life Well-Lived
He didn’t seek the world’s applause
He feared the Lord and loved His laws
He served the poor he spoke with grace
A steady heart in every place
A life well-lived a path well run
He walked in truth he loved the Son
He fought the fight with quiet might
A man of peace a man of light
And now he rests in glory’s song
But what he stood for still lives on
He judged with mercy gave with cheer
He bore the weight when I drew near
No title marked the love he gave
He lived to bless he died to save
A life well-lived a path well run
He walked in truth he loved the Son
He fought the fight with quiet might
A man of peace a man of light
And now he rests in glory’s song
But what he stood for still lives on
What we remember is not just loss
But every cross he chose to bear
Each silent gift each unseen cost
A holy fire in humble prayer
A life well-lived a path well run
He walked in truth he loved the Son
He fought the fight with quiet might
A man of peace a man of light
A life well-lived
A life well-lived
The Light Beyond the Tomb
There’s silence where he used to be
But silence is not victory
The grave may hold what once I knew
But Christ has broken through
No shadow lasts where God has shined
No loss that love won’t one day find
The body sleeps but not in vain
For glory wakes again
There is a light beyond the tomb
A dawn that breaks the night of gloom
Where death is drowned and tears run dry
Where saints arise and angels cry
He lives He reigns the Lamb once slain
And we shall rise with Him again
So lay me down but not in fear
The Lord of life is drawing near
His voice will call His light will burn
And every buried soul return
There is a light beyond the tomb
A dawn that breaks the night of gloom
Where death is drowned and tears run dry
Where saints arise and angels cry
He lives He reigns the Lamb once slain
And we shall rise with Him again
We shall rise we shall rise
In the light beyond the tomb
O Satyrus, My Brother
O Satyrus my brother my heart my guide
You walked beside me never behind
When I was lost you lit the way
And now you’ve gone where I can’t stay
You bore my burdens fought my fears
You lived with honor through the years
You chose the right when none could see
And gave your strength to carry me
O Satyrus my brother
No words can hold this ache
But love like yours can never die
It only waits to wake
I’ll see you in the morning
Where joy forgets the night
O Satyrus my brother
Now walk in glory’s light
You would have died in place of me
But now you live eternally
I feel the hollow still I sing
For you are with the risen King
O Satyrus my brother
No words can hold this ache
But love like yours can never die
It only waits to wake
I’ll see you in the morning
Where joy forgets the night
O Satyrus my brother
Now walk in glory’s light
O Satyrus
My brother
I’ll see you in the light
