Song Meaning
"Credo" answers renunciation with belief. In the Milanese baptismal tradition described by Ambrose, the candidate's profession of faith accompanies the movement toward baptism and confesses Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three musical swells reflect that Trinitarian shape without turning the track into a literal reenactment. Augustine's journey had passed through doubt, competing philosophies, and resistance to Christian teaching.
